I love the light effects, I love the fabric, her expression, that AMAZING wooden cupboard behind her (I'm such a sucker for old-fashioned furniture that carry all that personality and love of their creators and former owners...). I even like the cat, although I'm a dog person myself.
Tell you one thing, this painting reminded of Johannes Vermeer [link]. The man had an amazing understanding of light and shadow without making the colours dull and boring. He also has drawn one of my favourite portraits, this one: [link]. Seriously, I don't know what you've done here, but you've done it perfectly...

Also I love old furniture too, and old houses. So much more character and personality than new pre-fab shit. Nobody builds awesome things anymore, which is really sad because it's so much easier to make awesome things now with the modern equipment, versus, you know, slaves with sticks and stuff.
